Geo Genesis Group Limited, a PLUS-quoted emerging markets advisory and investment company, and its wholly-owned subsidiary Qingdao China Partners Investment Advisory Co. Limited (‘China Partners’, together with Geo Genesis, ‘the Group’) signed a strategic partnership agreement on 8 April 2008 with the Qingdao office of Bank of Communications (‘BOCOM’) to provide comprehensive financial services to joint clients.

Under the terms of the agreement, inter alia, the parties will jointly provide corporate consulting services to the clients of BOCOM, including corporate re-structuring and re-organisation advice, M&A activity, fundraisings and public listings on overseas stock markets.  Furthermore, the Group will assist in the marketing of BOCOM’s financial services, which shall include introducing the Group’s clients to these services, and will ensure that any capital raised for clients introduced by BOCOM will be primarily deposited with BOCOM.

Additionally, the parties will work together to provide mixed equity and debt fundraising services, utilising BOCOM’s fundraising instruments including loan, trust and financial leasing services and the Group’s equity capital raising services.

BOCOM will co-ordinate and assist the Group with access to other branches of BOCOM, including Shanghai and Hong Kong.  The Group will also co-ordinate and assist the corporate finance departments of BOCOM with access to certain investment banks in the United States, United Kingdom and other international jurisdictions, to provide comprehensive fundraising and listing services to certain selected clients of BOCOM.

The Company will consider BOCOM as the initial choice of capital trusteeship bank for its two closed end investment companies, China Partners Private Equity Limited and China Partners Properties Limited, which have been established to invest in Chinese small and medium sized enterprises and real estate industry.

China Partners, which is responsible for the Company’s operations in China, is licensed by the Shandong Province Commerce Department to provide corporate advisory services nationally, which includes providing advice to Chinese companies in connection with international securities exchange listings, international trade and international accountancy standards.

Founded in 1908, BOCOM became China’s first state-owned shareholding commercial bank in 1987 following restructuring.  While its head office is in Shanghai, it has a further eight branches, including the branch in Qingdao.  Since it was opened in February 1988, the Qingdao branch of BOCOM has developed into a financial institution with 16 sub-branches, 58 bank outlets and over 1000 employees.
